The Caquetá Department offers the incredible possibility to visit in very close places, three different habitats with their corresponding birds: the Andean region with its montane forests, the Amazon region with its humid tropical forests and the Orinoquía with its savanna ecosystems, grasslands and wetlands Visiting the mountain range near Florence and the Caguán region, we will have access to about 300 different species of birds, with excellent transport routes and comfortable lodging and feeding conditions and adjustable to the needs of our customers.

Arrival at the Florencia airport, hotel accommodation to be arranged, in a residential area of the city. Depending on the season, night sightings of Black-banded Owl in urban areas.
Night: Hotel El Bosque
At 5am we will depart from the lodging place towards the eastern mountain range, on the new road that leads to Huila, to the path of La Tortuga. We can see Coopery-chested Jacamar, Deep-blue Flowerpiercer, Black-billed Treehunter, Cliff Flycatcher, Tangaras and many species of montane forest. Breakfast at the place, attended by farmers from the region. At noon we will have lunch at the restaurant La Calera with the possibility of see monkeys (Saimiri sciureus). After take luggage in Florencia, we will depart in the afternoon to San Vicente del Caguán, to the El Porvenir farm near Puerto Losada where we will have dinner and spend the night. You can make night see of some local species such as Great potoo and Barn Owl.
We will start the tour to the main path of the forest of the farm at 5am after a coffee and we will fast in the forest to avoid losing the sunrise and the best birds: usually more than 100 species are recorded on this day! Among them Scarlet Macaw, White-throated Toucan, four types of Trogon (Blue-crowned, Amazonian, Black-tailed and green-backed), antbirds and monkeys that inhabit this biological corridor between PNN Picachos and Tinigua. we will have lunch at the farm and in the afternoon we will visit another sector of the farm where open prairie ecosystems predominate. Late afternoon we will return to the farm for dinner, check the records of the day and rest.
After a nice morning coffee we will go to the forest of the reserve to look for more birds or insist on some that you want to see in more detail. We will return to the farm for lunch and travel to Florencia to be at the hotel after sunset or at the time required by our customers.
Night: Hotel El Bosque
At 5am we will go to the old road to Huila, named by Hilty in his Guide of Birds of Colombia, to the sector of the Tucanes view point between the valleys of the creek La Portada and Río Tarqui. There we can find Andean cock-of-the-rock, Golden-eared Tanager, Black-billed Treehunter, Deep-blue Flowerpiercer, Gray-mantled Wren and many more Andean forest species. We will have lunch on site with the participation of the community organization Corcaraño as hosts. Depending on the requirements of birds that you wish to see, you can visit other nearby sighting points, even at the sunset to look for Lyre-tailed Nightjar . We will return to Florencia at dusk for dinner.
Night: Hotel el Bosque
After breakfast we will go to the El Vaticano wetland near the city of Florence. We can see Stripe-Necked Tody-tyrant, Azure Gallinule, Dark-breasted Spinetail, Yellow-browed Tody-flycatcher, Caqueta seedeater, Hoatzin, Horner Screamer and many Parakeets and macaws. Dismissed lunch at La Calera restaurant with sighting of monkeys and transfer to the airport for your next destination!
