We will be met at the airport and transfer to El Dorado Reserve(2000 meters above sea level), driving 3 hours by 4×4 along a bad road. we will have lunch at El Dorado and explore the trails to find the species of interest such as Santa Marta Brushfinch, Sierra nevada brushfinch, white-tailed starfronlet, santa marta woostar, santa marta brossoncrown, black-fronted wood quail, white-lored warbler, santa marta tapaculo, and many more.

7:00 Dinner and after that we could go finding owls.
Wake up at 4:30am and start driving up to the top of the mountain where can be seen endemic species only found there such as Santa Marta Warbler, Santa Marta parakeet, Rufous Antpitta, Brown-rumped tapaculo, rusty-breasted spinetail, streak-capped spinetail, Santa Marta Antpitta, and many more.

After taking breakfast we’ll leave the reserve, after that we will start going down to the coast zone, making strategic/stationary stops from the reserve to Minca(foothill of the sierra nevada of Santa Marta) where we gonna take lunch.
After lunch start our driving to Palomino(guajira department) where we will stay the night at LA Jorara Hotel

Camarones has good popularity casuse it’s the northern extreme of Colombia and it shares many birds with the northwest of venezuela… all of these birds are called Near-endemic cause are only found in this 2 points of the world.
besides this, it is a point of importance for migratory birds.
Birds of interest: Vermilian cardinal, Pearly-vented Tody-Tyrant, Slender-billed Tyrannulet Glaucous Tanager Orinocan Saltator Black-faced Grassquit, Buffy Hummingbird, Chesnut piculet, Black-crested antshrike, black-back antshrike, and many more!

At 5:00 am, we will start the activity to Salamanca for an hour driving from your hotel . In this place there are mangroves, with a very dense population Bicoloured Conebill , sharing habitat with Protonotary warbler and Northernwaterthrush. Also you can see the Sapphire-bellied Hummingbird. Along the coast we will see Magnificent frigatebird and numerous Brown pelicans and a host of herons and waders out in the marshes of the Reddish Egret, Tricolored and Great Blue Herons, Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, Osprey, Common Black Hawk, Semipalmated and Wilson’s Plovers, Willet, Hudsonian Whimbrel, Short-billed Dowitcher, Stilt Sandpiper and Gull-billed, Caspian, Royal and Sandwich Terns. Other widespread species that we see, or in other parts of the Santa Marta region, including Savannah and Zone-tailed Hawks, Pearl Kite, Common Ground Dove, Northern Scrub Flycatcher, Bicolored Wren, Red-eyed Vireo, Trinidad Euphonia, grayish Saltator and Great-tailed Grackle. at 11:00 we’ll leave the national park and drive around 1:30 hour to take lunch in Barranquilla. at 2:00 pm keep going to Cartagena or Santa Marta, depending on the airport of your flight.
