2 days El Dorado Reserve-Birding trip at Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta

Explore the cloud forests of the Santa Marta mountain (the highest coastal mountain in the world with 5775 m), to discover its natural beauties: landscapes, wildlife. Especially the group of endemic birds of this mountain.
Birds of interest: White-tipped Quetzal, Santa Marta Parakeet, Santa Marta toucanet, White-tailed Starfrontlet and Santa Marta mountain-tanager, among others. 

Going up from your hotel to the mountain

Pick up you at 5:00 am at your Hotel to start the tour, 1 hour driving to Minca Village where we gonna take breakfast, after breakfast we continue birding along the way to the reserve(2000 meters above sea level) 3 hours driving and birding along the way by 4x4truck. Get to the lodge at 12:30pm where we gonna take lunch. After lunch take a rest to 2:30pm At 3:00pm keep birding to 5:00pm Dinner at 7:00pm and after it we couldlook for night birds(owls)

Early birding time

This day we wake up at 4:30am to keep driving for 2 more hours to the top of the mountain(2600 meters above sea level) to enjoy the sunrise and keep birding and try to find all the endemic species.

Breakfast in the wild at 8:00 am

Start way down at 10:30 am 

Lunch at the reserve at 1:00 pm
