About this trip

We’ll go through the Cienaga Grande of Santa Marta on a rowboat, this one is the largest body of water in Colombia, we’re going to explore the mouths of the rivers that descend from the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta where more than 80 species of aquatic and terrestrial birds live with restricted distribution. In addition to knowing a palafito village, learn about its amphibian culture and the fishing gear.

Day 1

05:30 am Departure from hotel in Santa Marta to Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta.

06:30 am We arrive to Cienaga Grande, and board a motorized boat.

07:30 am We take breakfast in field

08:00 am Continue with the birding trip around the lagoon and rivers mouths.

11:35 am  Departure from Cienaga Grande to  Santa Marta.

12:30 pm Lunch in Cienaga, Magalena. And continue to Santa Marta.

14:30 pm We arrive to the hotel in Santa Marta.
